Questions before you call
How long does a GEICO quote by phone take?
Usually 5 to 10 minutes. Have your ZIP code, each vehicle's year, make and model, and the driver's license numbers of the drivers in your household handy and it goes faster.
Is the phone quote the same price as online?
Yes. Your quote is generated by GEICO's own quoting system at GEICO's rates whether you call or quote online. The difference is that a licensed agent walks you through it and makes sure every discount you qualify for is applied.
Can I buy the policy on the same call?
Yes. If you like the rate, the agent can bind the policy on the call and your coverage can start the same day.
Does a phone quote affect my credit?
No. GEICO uses a soft inquiry for quotes, which does not lower your credit score.
What are your phone hours?
Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 6:30 pm Eastern. Outside those hours you can get the same GEICO quote online in about 2 minutes by entering your ZIP code.
What will the agent ask me on the call?
Your ZIP code, the vehicles you want to insure, the drivers in your household, your current coverage if you have any, and the discounts you may qualify for such as military, federal employee or good student. Have your license and VIN handy to speed it up.
